Let’s be honest: local government is supposed to be the most effective. The most in touch. The most able to look at an issue like “Is it OK to park an RV here?” and come up with something. But Bedford has managed to match the dysfunction of Albany with the decisiveness of a toddler picking a bedtime book.
And the only thing moving fast is enforcement on leaf blowers and unsanctioned lawn signs. Meanwhile, the real issues get the usual treatment - polite acknowledgment, quiet tabling, and eternal deferral.
