The Bedford Bee is an independent satirical publication covering Bedford, New York: town government, public meetings, local policy, civic life, and the occasional consultant-funded mystery. It covers Bedford through satire and commentary, grounded in real public records. The goal is to make Bedford government easier to follow and harder to ignore.

WHO
One anonymous Bedford resident.

The Bedford Bee is written by one local who pays attention to Bedford government so the rest of you can spend your evenings doing literally anything else. The anonymity is intentional. This isn't about me. It's about the town, the decisions, and the comedy.

WHAT
Independent local satire, grounded in real Bedford government.

The Bedford Bee covers Bedford Town Board meetings, local policy decisions, and the gap between what's happening and what residents are told. Everything starts with something real: public agendas, resolutions, hearings, the issues Bedford keeps circling. The sharpening is where the Bee comes in.

WHERE
Bedford, NY. All of it.

Bedford Village, Bedford Hills, Katonah, Town Hall, the meeting room, the consultant memo, the public hearing no one heard about, and the "pilot program" entering its third year.

WHEN
Since the summer of 2025, and usually right after the agenda drops.

The Bedford Bee launched in the summer of 2025 to make local government easier to notice and harder to ignore. Bedford has no shortage of material. It just tends to arrive as a PDF attachment.

WHY
Because I love Bedford.

This site is not anti-Bedford. Quite the opposite. I care about this town enough to call out wasted power, misplaced priorities, and civic theater dressed up as leadership. The goal is not to get the Town Board's attention. The goal is to get residents' attention.

HOW
Truth first. Satire second.

Everything starts with real public information. Then it gets sharpened. The Bee doesn't invent problems. It translates them into something people will actually read, remember, and share. Humor gets in under the door while seriousness is still fumbling at the handle.

Write-In Campaign Archive

In fall 2025, the Bee ran for Town Supervisor and both Councilmember seats: unopposed, unsponsored, and entirely on principle. It lost by a landslide. The signs stayed up.

Editorial Policy

The Bedford Bee is an independent satirical publication focused on Bedford government, public life, and civic affairs. It is not affiliated with the Town of Bedford or any public agency. It publishes satire, commentary, and opinion based on matters of legitimate public concern.

Much of the material here is rooted in real public information: town agendas, resolutions, meeting videos, public statements, hearings, reports, and other official records. That said, this is not a government website, a newspaper of record, or an official source of legal or municipal guidance. If you need the literal version of anything, consult the Town of Bedford or the underlying public documents directly.

The Bedford Bee may reference real public officials, candidates, boards, committees, consultants, advocacy groups, and other public-facing institutions or individuals involved in civic life. Those references are made in the context of satire, commentary, criticism, and opinion regarding public affairs. Some language may be exaggerated for comedic or rhetorical effect. That is the point.

If something on this site contains a genuine factual error, feel free to reach out. Factual corrections are welcome. Hurt feelings, less so.
