📈 New Portal Speeds Up Approvals, Slows Down Charm

In her Friday newsletter, the Town Supervisor proudly announced the launch of a new online property portal designed to “streamline building permits” and “modernize the review process.”

The platform is aptly called CitySquared – which feels less like software and more like a mission statement.

We are told the system will reduce administrative burden and digitize submissions. Gone are the days of lugging oversized architectural renderings into Town Hall. Now proposals introducing bold new interpretations of height, mass, and hamlet scale can be uploaded directly from a Manhattan conference room.

The Town says the portal improves efficiency for all parties. Particularly for development teams coordinating traffic studies, shadow analyses, and persuasive explanations for why five stories is the new two.

Residents are encouraged to create a free account.

Your 8-inch easement request will be reviewed promptly. Just after 33 parking spaces, three variances, and one “transformational” mixed use complex are deemed entirely consistent with Bedford’s rural character.
